Conclusion

I chose Old Fashion as my topic because I am very interested in fashion. I know quite a lot about the fashion nowadays, but I wanted to research more about fashion trends from earlier years. I thought it is a brilliant opportunity to do this by writing a blog on this. So now I found out more about the fashion and if other people are interested too, they can read my blog.
A lot of the fashion trends that were "in" years ago are very different and foreign to the trends from today, that is the first impression I got when I started writing this blog. But the more I found out about fashion earlier, the more I saw that a lot of the trends came or come back in trend, just in different ways. For example high waisted shorts or jeans. That fashion trend was in from the 1970's until the 1990's and nowadays, everyone is going crazy to wear high waisted shorts in summer. They are just not as colourful as they were years ago.

90's Fashion

The 1990's Fashion was completely different to the 1980's. It was a decade of pop culture and music, but the fashion in the 90's was crazy. Men were wearing huge trousers with big pockets on them, the coolest gang trend was to roll up one leg of your pants. And after gangs started wearing it, some guy called LL Cool J made that style popular. Snapbacks and chain wallets came in trend and everyone had at least one neon windbreaker at home, they were the last crack. All kind of oversize clothes got popular and every second person had bleached hair.
The only trend that stayed in trend from the 60's to the 90's is the bright colours clothes had. The hippie style ended, tattoos body- and normal piercings was the mainstream.
Glamour wear was very important for every woman, if bracelets or high  shine fabrics like satin, metallics, sequins, microfiber, vinyl, and silk, everything had to be very shiny and glamorous. And this was not only clubwear, it was also workwear. And ripped jeans, as they are in trend nowadays again, were also a big part of the fashion back then.
If not bleached, hairstlyes were more ore less simple, men still had long hair and women prefered to have big curly hair.
The make up was reduced to a red lipstick, the eyes look always very neutral, eyeliner and eyeshadow wasn't worn as much as in the 60's and 70's.

80's Fashion

This video shows you a lot of the trend from the 1980´s. The fashion was very similar to the 70´s, there were barely any differences. The only new clothes were these really puffy skirts which everyone wore in the 80´s.

70's Fashion

The most important fashion models in the 1970's were Lauren Hutton, Margaux Hemingway, Beverly Johnson, Gia Carangi, Janice Dickinson and Cheryl Tiegs. The hippie look got popular and more people started wearing crazy, bright clothes. Things like headbands and floppy hats were a mainstream.
Accessories were made from different natural elements like wood, shells, stones, feathers, Indian beads and leather.
The skirts and dresses were as they were in the 1960´s, they just got even shorter and more high-waisted. T-shirts were shorter, cropped so that yo could see women´s bellybuttons. Every women had a pair of platform shoes at home. Men started wearing leisure suits and still clothes in beige colours. The hairstyles stayed as they where in the 60's and also the jewelry.
Sideburns and beards were popular for men, which had been out of fashion since the 19th century.
Music was one of the most important things in the 1970's. People listened to jazz and rock and famous bands and singers got popular. Musicians and bands like Stevie Wonder, ABBA, Queen who are still known by most of the people nowadays.
Focusing on the hippie style, the music they listened to and the materials they used to make accessories, it was the craziest years of fashion.

60's Fashion

I will begin by talking about various old trends from the 60's. The styles and designs of the fashion in the 1960's were crazy and it was one of the most important decades for the world of fashion.
The main colours were crazy, bright and pastel. Women hair was long and outstanding. Men were wearing longer hair which was slightly influenced by Elvis. The Beatles' sleek look of a blunt one-length style was also very admired or even the more layered shag style. Also popular for coloured people was the afro.
Dresses were the biggest trend. In summer women were wearing these dresses or the shortest pants and mini skirts and crop tops. Men's fashion were colourful trousers down to the knee. And a big trends were Polo-Shirts. The A-line skirts from the 50's were still in trend, but less and less people were wearing those.
Most of the women had big handbags that they were nearly too big. The big handbag trend is also present nowadays, but these outstanding bags were not worn in the years between.
Also the make up mattered. It was not very colourful, but eyeliner and eye shadow were intensively visible. The most popular colour for lips and nails was pastel.
In general, the 60's trend was one of the most outstanding trends in the history.
